Egypt bourse gains EGP 35.2 bln last week on back of government measures

The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) indexes posted collective gains during last week’s trading, the market capital gained  35.2 billion Egyptian pounds  on back of government measures to curb coronavirus impact on the economy.

The market capital reached 539.9 billion pounds compared with EGP 504.7 pounds billion a week earlier, recording an increase of 7 percent.

The EGX 30 benchmark index went up by 7.68 percent to register 9,912.98 points.

The EGX 70 EWI index of the leading smaller and mid-cap enterprises (SME) increased by 14.1 percent to stand at 959.42 points.

The all-embracing EGX 100 index went up by about 11.4 percent to settle at 1,036.16 points.
