Egypt building materials exports hit $3.4 bln annually to more than 100 countries

Egypt’s building materials exports have reached 30 billion Egyptian pounds ($3.4 billion) per year for more than 100 countries, said head of the Egyptian Export Council for Building Materials Tuesday.

Walid Gamal Eldin, Chairman of the Egyptian Export Council for Building Materials, added that that the council is planning to double its activity by expanding the country’s building materials exports into some major markets worldwide.

Speaking at a conference on Tuesday, Gamal Eldin referred to the importance of BAU Exhibition, which will take place in Munich on 16-21 January 2017, as effective gateway to promote the Egyptian building materials in order to penetrate major markets.

In its 2016 edition, the exhibition has contributed to provide Egyptian building materials an access to German market, Gamal said.

The Egyptian chairman has added that the exhibition has an important position globally and receives more than 250,000 visitors and 2000 participant companies all over the world. The council seeks by taking part in the 2017 edition, to help the country’s exports enter new major markets.

The BAU Exhibition takes place every biennium in Munich with more than 250,000 visitors and 2000 participant companies all over the world which makes it the most iconic event in the architectural sector.
