Egypt calls for providing immediate humanitarian aid to Gaza

Egypt urges all countries and international organizations to send humanitarian aid to Gaza Strip through El Arish International Airport ,according to a statement by the ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Egypt stressed that it is a humanitarian responsibility to take the initiative of supporting Palestinian people, who are currently suffering as a result of Israel’s violent and persistent bombing.

Egypt also denies the false information that Rafah border crossing linking Egypt to the Gaza Strip was closed. The border is open and has not been closed since the beginning of the crisis. However the Palestinian side of Rafah was bombed several times by Israel causing damage.

Egypt exhorts Israel to stop targeting the Palestinian side of the crossing so that restoration efforts  could succeed .
