Egypt Central Bank keeps Interest Rates ‘Unchanged’ in April

In its today’s meeting, the Central Bank of Egypt’s Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) decided to keep the lending rate and deposit rate unchanged at 9.75% and 8.75% respectively.

CBE’s main operation and the discount rate were also kept at 9.25% each.

Key interest rates were last changed in January 2015, when the committee cut them 50 basis points each on lower inflation expectations.
