Egypt has strongly condemned Israel’s announcement of an agency aimed at displacing Palestinians from Gaza and its approval of 13 new settlements in the West Bank.
In a Foreign Ministry statement on Monday, Cairo dismissed the concept of so-called “voluntary departure,” which Israel claims the agency targets, stressing that any departure under bombardment, war, and policies restricting humanitarian aid—while using starvation as a weapon—constitutes forced displacement, a crime, and a violation of international law and humanitarian law.
Egypt called on the international community and the UN Security Council to take a firm stance against Israel’s continued violations and provocations. It urged decisive action to implement international legitimacy resolutions and restore Palestinian rights, particularly the right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state along the June 4, 1967, borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
