Zayed said that there are currently 363 hospitals ready to receive patients and 200 extra ventilators available to face the increase in cases.

The minister requested that citizens head to the nearest hospitals in the event that they are infected and not to specific hospitals in order not to cause over crowdedness in those hospitals.

Also, at a cabinet meeting on Wednesday, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said New Year’s Eve celebrations will be banned in a bid to contain the spread of the pandemic.

In education, Ministry of Education stated on Sunday that school students will be allowed not to attend classes for the rest of the first semester, but they will have to take the exams in person at school.
