Egypt construction federation urges equipment import duties down to 5%

The Egyptian Federation for Construction and Building Contractors (EFCBC) is demanding the country’s Tax Authority to narrow tax on imported equipment to five percent from 14 percent.

Gaber Attia, Head of Tax Committee at EFCBC, said Sunday that the committee sent a formal request to the Egyptian tax authority to lower taxes on imported equipment to five percent for the construction firms.

EFCBC seeks to ease the current financial burdens and obstacles facing the construction firms in Egypt, Attia added.
