Egypt contracts 240K tons of Russian wheat

Egypt’s state grains buyer GASC said on Wednesday that it has contracted 240,000 tons of Russian wheat in an international bid, which financed by a fund from the World Bank and expected to be delivered between the 1st and the 15th of April.

The authority added that the purchasing procedure came with around $317.50 per ton, including the shipping fees from Green Flower, payable at sight.

The merchants have provided information about the purchasing process, saying that it will be divided on two shipments of 60 thousand tons and four other shipments of 40,000 tons.

The bid comes in light of the programme to support food security and resilience, powered by the World Bank, as the purchase is under the loan numbered 9399-EG.
