Egypt is seeking to attract investment from Qatari companies in mining, manufacturing, and energy as the government works to expand the country’s productive base and boost exports, the Ministry of Investment said on Wednesday.
Investment and Foreign Trade Minister Mohamed Farid met with executives from Aamal Company QPSC, Qatar Mining Company (QM), and Qatar Industrial Manufacturing Company (QIMC) on the sidelines of the 2026 World Investment Forum in Doha.
Farid said Egypt was looking to deepen partnerships with Qatari companies and attract investment into productive and service sectors. He cited infrastructure development, industrial and logistics zones, and trade agreements as factors supporting the country’s investment appeal.
The government is working to simplify licensing procedures, improve investor services, and expand digital transformation, Farid said. Egypt’s trade agreements also offer companies access to African, Arab, and European markets, he added.
In a meeting with Aamal Company Chief Executive Rashid Bin Ali Al Mansoori, Farid discussed potential cooperation in sectors including industry, energy, and healthcare.
Talks with Qatar Mining Chief Executive Hamad Al-Athbah focused on opportunities in mining and metals, including projects to increase the value added from mineral resources through processing and manufacturing.
Farid also met Qatar Industrial Manufacturing Company Chief Executive Abdulrahman Abdulla Al-Ansari to discuss manufacturing opportunities in fertilisers, chemicals, and petrochemicals, as well as the potential development of new projects.
Expanding Egypt’s production base and increasing exports are priorities for the country’s investment and trade policies, Farid said. The ministry is ready to provide Qatari companies with information on investment opportunities and coordinate with relevant authorities to assess projects and facilitate procedures, he added.
