Egypt’s Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy signed a deal on Wednesday with the Norwegian company Scatec to build a wind power plant west of Sohag.
The deal will provide the company with a piece of land and will have an investment worth five billion dollars.
The new plant is expected to produce five gigawatts of electricity annually, which makes it the largest plant of its kind in Egypt and Africa.
The project will also provide around eight thousand job opportunities during the establishment process, along with 300 permanent job opportunities.
