Egypt, EU discuss advancing strategic partnership

Egypt’s Minister of Planning and Economic Development, Rania Al-Mashat, met with Joseph Sikela, the European Commission’s Commissioner for International Partnerships, to discuss advancing the Egypt-EU Strategic and Comprehensive Partnership.

The discussion reviewed ongoing development cooperation programmes and further steps to implement agreements outlined in the joint declaration launched during the Egypt-EU summit between President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen last year.

The meeting further focused on supporting macroeconomic mechanisms, budget support, and investment guarantees. Al-Mashat praised the positive impact of the partnership on Egypt’s development, especially in renewable energy, sustainable infrastructure, and water.
