Egypt and Oman recorded a trade exchange volume of $858 million in 2024, dropping from $908 million in 2023, according to a report released by the Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics (CAPMAS) on Thursday.
Egyptian exports to Oman increased to $194 million, while imports from Oman decreased to $664 million. Key exports included vegetables, optical equipment, and electrical appliances, while major imports were metal ores, fish, and plastics.
Remittances from Egyptians working in Oman amounted to $184.3 million in 2023/2024, a slight decrease from the previous year, while remittances from Omanis working in Egypt increased to $4 million.
Omani investments in Egypt also increased significantly, reaching $12.7 million in 2023/2024, compared to $4.1 million in the previous fiscal year, the CAPMAS report added.
