Egypt extends Sunday remote work for public employees through August
Egypt’s Cabinet on Thursday extended a work-from-home arrangement allowing eligible public-sector employees to work remotely every Sunday through 31 Aug.
The decision, approved during the Cabinet’s weekly meeting chaired by Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly, extends the application of Prime Ministerial Decree No. 982 of 2026, which introduced the weekly remote-working arrangement, according to a Cabinet statement.
The arrangement will continue to apply to all government entities and institutions covered by the decree until Aug. 31, the statement said.
