Egypt’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Hassan El-Khatib, held talks with France’s Ambassador to Egypt, Éric Chevallier, and executives from Airbus Helicopters to discuss a project for manufacturing, assembling, and maintaining an integrated aviation system in Egypt to support the tourism sector.
El-Khatib highlighted Egypt’s ambition to leverage global expertise to enhance its aviation industry, noting that the project would create new jobs and establish Egypt as a regional aviation hub in the Middle East and Africa.
The project, backed by key ministries and Egyptian companies, aims to support industries that drive technology transfer and boost export rates, El-Khatib said.
French Ambassador Chevallier reaffirmed France’s commitment to strengthening economic ties with Egypt, particularly in the aviation sector, citing Egypt’s market as a significant opportunity for technology transfer and local production.
Airbus Helicopter officials stated that their strategy focuses on developing Egypt’s aerospace industry, offering advanced training and simulation, and supporting local aircraft and component manufacturing. They expressed readiness to bring modern technology to enhance Egypt’s competitiveness.
