Egypt eyes smart solutions for water, sanitation in new cities

Egypt’s Deputy Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Sayed Ismail met with representatives of a global company specialising in smart solutions and sustainable systems to discuss their potential application in water and sanitation services in new cities, as per a Cabinet satement.

Ismail reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to equipping new cities with the latest integrated management systems using modern and smart technologies.

He noted previous discussions with the company, which resulted in agreements to conduct studies and present findings to relevant officials.

Company representatives showcased studies conducted in New Alamein and New Cairo, along with a proposed capacity-building plan for regulatory authorities and the New Urban Communities Authority.

The meeting also addressed smart system applications in New Alamein and the development of pilot models to explore advanced technologies for utility management.

Ismail instructed a review of the company’s technical and financial proposals to ensure the optimal use of these technologies for efficient infrastructure management.
