Egypt grants foreign yacht tourists three-month visa to boost tourism

Egypt has decided to grant foreign yacht tourists three-month visas instead of the previous one-month allowance, the Ministry of Transport announced this step on Tuesday.

This move is particularly beneficial for individuals who may encounter unexpected circumstances preventing them from leaving Egypt within their initial visa period, the statement added.

In addition to that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has instructed Egyptian embassies and consulates to grant yacht tourists three-month tourist visas instead of the 30 day stay that used to be issued before.

The country aims to position itself as a premier destination for yacht tourism. However, the Egyptian tourism sector expects to receive 15 million tourists in 2023 as it is an important source of hard currency.
