Egypt maintains customs exempts on Gaza humanitarian aid

Egypt is providing all necessary facilities relating to the country’s response to humanitarian aid required for Gaza relief, according to a cabinet statement on Tuesday.

To this effect, the country’s Finance Minister, Mohamed Maait, reviewed all procedures to facilitate the prompt relief works for Gaza, as far as the exceptional customs exemption of all aid materials delivered to Gaza and swift customs clearance procedures to maintain sustainable supply of food, medicines, medical supplies, and other aid; in order to contribute to meet the basic needs of the people of Gaza.

The Egyptian ports are working non-stop to finalise the customs procedures related to the humanitarian aid trucks to reach the besieged Gaza through Rafah Border Crossing, Maait said.
