Egypt, Malaysia Sign Economic Cooperation Agreement To Enhance Intra-trade

The Egyptian Ministry of Industry has signed an economic cooperation agreement between Egypt and Malaysia to open new horizons for cooperating in different between the two countries.

Eng. Hatem Saleh, Egyptian Minister of Industry and Foreign Trade, said the agreement aims at encouraging an developing the economic and commercial cooperation, as well as enhancing the trade and removing all the intra-obstacles facing the trade in the two countries. The agreement also targets increasing the Malaysian investments in the Egyptian market to establish new ventures in all fields.

The minister added that the agreement covers a number of fields, like trade, investment, industry, construction, small and medium entrepreneurs, transport, information system, communication, agriculture, food industries, retail trade, protection of intellectual property, energy, health, education, tourism, and media.

Saleh stated that this cooperation serve the joint interests between Egypt and Malaysia, and based on equity and mutual interest; referring that the ministries of industry and trade in the two countries will implement this agreement in the coming period to serve the joint national economy.

The minister emphasized that Egypt keens on bolstering the cooperation relations with Malaysia to open new fields for the joint investments and the economic relations between the two countries are constantly developing.
