Egypt plans 30m sqm green fuel hub in SCZONE
Egypt aims to transform the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) into a global hub for green fuel production by allocating up to 30 million square metres for various facilities, according to Waleid Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of the General Authority of SCZONE.
Speaking during the Egyptian trade mission to the United Kingdom, Gamal El-Dien outlined plans to centralise green fuel production through a “shared facilities” model, including a water plant and utility corridor to reduce costs and enhance efficiency.
SCZONE has prepared its industrial zones to accommodate 21 industrial and service sectors.
Investment in infrastructure has surged, with $6 billion invested in industrial zones and ports over the past two years, boosting SCZONE’s competitive advantage in green fuel production and ship bunkering services.
