Egypt plans to increase spending by 15 percent in the fiscal year starting in July, the state-run Al- Ahram newspaper reported.
The budget foresees spending of 516 billion pounds ($85 billion) and a deficit of 170 billion pounds, the Cairo-based newspaper reported, without saying where it got the information. It earmarks 126 billion pounds for government salaries, 60 billion for education and 25 billion for health care, Al-Ahram said.
