Egypt ranks 9th globally in phosphate reserves

Egypt has been ranked 9th globally in phosphate reserves, according to the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources. The country has substantial phosphate reserves, estimated at approximately 1.3 billion tons.
Egypt’s phosphate reserves are concentrated in several key locations. The Abu Tartur Plateau in the Western Desert is home to one of the largest deposits in the region, renowned for its relatively high-quality phosphate. Along the Red Sea coast, significant reserves are found in the areas of Safaga, Quseir, and Hamrawein. Additionally, the Eastern Desert holds smaller but still important phosphate reserves, contributing to the country’s overall output.
