Egypt Receives Fuel Shipments from KSA – Official

Egypt has received today free fuel shipments from Saudi Arabia, as part of the Gulf state’s promised aid worth US$ one billion following the ouster of president Mohamed Morsi, the Egyptian petroleum minister announced on Tuesday.

In a phone interview with the Turkey-based news agency Anadolu, the newly-appointed Minister of Petroleum Sherif Ismail stated that Egypt has received the first Saudi shipment by the begining of this month in accordance with an agreement among the Egyptian General Petroleum Co. (EGPC) and the Saudi Oil ministry as well as the Saudi Arabian Oil Company (Saudi Aramco).

Yet, the Egyptian minister has not disclosed any further information about the number of KSA’s fuel shipment, he just noted that the Saudi shipments shall assist in filling the market’s growing domestic demand for fuel.
