Egypt records highest single-day spike in coronavirus cases, of 745 on Wednesday

Egypt has reported 745 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday – marking its highest daily jump so far, bring the overall number of infections to 14,229.

The North African country also reported 21 new fatalities on Wednesday, taking its total to 680 deaths from the coronavirus, according to a health ministry statement. However, the total number of recoveries surged to 3,994 on Wednesday, from 3,742 on Tuesday, the statement read.
