Egypt remains resilient investment destination despite regional challenges – BEBA chairman

Egypt has maintained its position as a stable destination for investment despite ongoing regional challenges, British Egyptian Business Association (BEBA) Chairman Khaled Nosseir said on Wednesday, as business leaders and government officials gathered in London to promote investment opportunities and economic reforms.

Speaking at the opening of BEBA’s 2026 Investment Business Mission to the United Kingdom, held under the theme “Egypt Forward: Investment Opportunities and Sustainable Economic Reform”, Nosseir said Egypt had demonstrated resilience while continuing to implement a broad economic reform programme.

“Despite the turbulence affecting the wider region, Egypt has remained a stable destination for investment and has continued to advance its reform agenda,” Nosseir said.

The two-day mission is led by Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk and includes Investment and Foreign Trade Minister Mohamed Farid, Housing Minister Sherif El-Sherbiny, Central Bank of Egypt Deputy Governor Rami Aboul Naga, as well as senior government officials, investors and business leaders from Egypt and the United Kingdom.

Nosseir said the discussions come at a pivotal time as Egypt pursues economic reforms aimed at strengthening competitiveness, attracting foreign investment and increasing private-sector participation in the economy.

Drawing on his experience working across countries in the Middle East and Africa, he described Egypt as a regional safe haven for investment, citing its ability to withstand external shocks and maintain economic reform momentum.

The mission brings together policymakers, investors and industry leaders through a series of meetings and panel discussions designed to showcase investment opportunities across key sectors and strengthen economic ties between Egypt and the United Kingdom.

The event comes as Egypt seeks to attract additional foreign direct investment and deepen partnerships with international investors as part of efforts to support economic growth and sustainable development.
