Egypt seeks to connect 1.2 million homes with natural gas by June-end

State-owned Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) plans to deliver natural gas to 1.2 million homes in Egypt by the end of June 2016.

During financial year 2014-15, Egypt has connected 850,000 homes with natural gas.

Khaled Abd El Badee – EGAS chairman – said the company targets delivering natural gas to 193, 000 homes in the Upper Egypt region during the current financial year 2015-16, alongside some factories there.

Delivering natural gas is part of the country’s Household Natural Gas Connection National Project.
