Egypt sees role linking Caspian energy supplies to Europe – minister

Egypt is well-positioned to help connect energy supplies from the Caspian region to European markets, Petroleum Minister Karim Badawy said on Tuesday, citing the country’s strategic location and extensive energy infrastructure.

Speaking during a ministerial session at Baku Energy Week, Badawy said Egypt’s natural gas, refining, storage and export facilities provide a strong foundation for expanding its role in regional and international energy trade.

He said the country’s integrated energy infrastructure strengthens its position as a regional hub for energy commerce and supports efforts to deepen cooperation with energy-producing countries and consumer markets.
