Egypt’s Ministry of Health has sent two military planes carrying tons of medical aid to alleviate burdens on the Sudanese people in times of crisis upon President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi’s directions, said the Spokesperson of Egyptian Armed Forces on Tuesday.
“This effort comes as a confirmation of the strong historic relations between the Egyptian and Sudanese people as well as Egypt’s pioneering role in supporting the countries of the African continent under all circumstances,” stressed the statement.
The statement added that a number of members of the Egyptian diplomatic mission to Sudan returned to the country to resume their duties at the Egyptian Consulate in Port Sudan.
Late April, Egypt’s Ministry of Transport announced that the number of evacuees from Sudan through the land border crossings between the two countries during the period April 21st to 25th has reached 10,194 Egyptians amongst other nationalities.
