Egypt Shares End Higher, Gain EGP2.2 bln on Arab Net Buyers

Egyptian stocks ended higher on Sunday posting gains totaled EGP 2.2 billion backed by the Arab net buyers. The benchmark index closed 0.7% higher to hit 5275 points.

The Egyptian Exchange indices were wavering on green notes on Sunday afternoon.

Egypt’s benchmark index EGX30 ended 0.76 per cent higher to 6275.52 pts, and the EGX20 also finished 0.85 per cent up to 7312.21 pts.   
Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 inched up by 0.60 per cent to conclude at 533.94 pts. The price index EGX100 increased by 0.59 per cent to close at 887.32 pts. 
The capital market has closed at EGP 409.044 billion on Sunday.

Turnovers 
Through the closing session of Sunday, the trading volume has reached 147.419 million securities. For the traded value, it hit EGP 431.087 million, exchanged through 22.112 thousand transactions.       

Also during the closing session, 187 listed securities have been traded in; 47 declined, 117 advanced; while 23 keeping their previous levels.

Investors’ Activity

Arabs were net buyers bolstering EGX’s closing gains acquiring 12.1% of the total market, with a net equity of EGP 74.086 million, excluding the deals.

On the other hand, Egyptians and the non-Arab foreigners were net sellers for they seized 84.83% and 3.07% respectively, of the total market, with net equities of EGP 69.248 million and EGP 4.838 million, excluding the deals.
