Egypt Shares Gain EGP791 mln at Midday

Egyptian stocks posted gains of EGP 791 million during the midday session of Thursday backed by local net buyers. The benchmark index rallied to cross 6265 points.

The Egyptian Exchange’s indices were wavering on green notes during Thursday midday.

The Benchmark EGX30 went up by 0.22% to 6266.98 p; while EGX20 rose by 0.36% to 7307.81 p.

Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 increased by 0.62% to 533.15 p.  Price index EGX100 hiked by 0.51% to 886.43 p.

The capital market has reached EGP 407.930 billion on Thursday, according to data compiled by Amwal Al Ghad English at 12:32 p.m. Cairo time (10:32 GMT).

Trading Volumes & Values

The trading volume has recorded 57.902 million securities worth EGP 130.246 million, exchanged through 8337 transactions during Thursday midday.

Also during the midday session, 165 listed securities have been traded in; 37 fell, 98 advanced; while 30 keeping their previous levels.

Investors’ Activities

Egyptians were net buyers bolstering EGX’s midday gains as they seized 86.64% of the total market, with a net equity of EGP 5.808 million thousand, excluding the deals.

Meanwhile, the non-Arab foreigners and Arabs were net sellers acquiring 9.36% and 4.01% respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 3.135 million and EGP 2.672 million respectively, excluding the deals.
