Egypt Shares Open The Week Slightly Higher, EGX 30 Nears 6820

Egyptian stocks have opened this week slightly higher posting gains of EGP 88 million backed by local net buyers. The main gauge hits 6819 points early Sunday.

The Egyptian Exchange’s indices were wavering in green notes during opening.

The Benchmark EGX30 went up by 0.10% to 6819.62 p; while EGX20 also rose by 0.03% to 7929.8 p.

Additionally, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 increased by 0.20% to 539.31 p.  Price index EGX100 advanced by 0.15% to 919.93 p.

The capital market has hit on Sunday opening EGP 425.921 billion, according to data compiled by Amwal Al Ghad English at 11:12 a.m. Cairo time (09:12 GMT).

Trading Volumes & Values

The trading volume has recorded 7202 million securities worth EGP 12.787 million, exchanged through 987 transactions during Sunday opening.

Also during the opening session, 82 listed securities have been traded in; 16 fell, 26 advanced; while 40 keeping their previous levels.

Investors’ Activities

Egyptians were net buyers acquiring 88.16% of the total market, with a net equity of EGP 871.478, excluding the deals.

On the contrary, the non-Arab foreigners and Arabs were net sellers seizing 3.96% and 7.88% respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 725.780 thousand and EGP 145.698 thousand respectively, excluding the deals.
