The Arab Organisation for Agricultural Development (AOAD), the Agricultural Research Centre, and the Desert Research Centre on Monday signed two cooperation protocols, the Egyptian Cabinet reported.
The first agreement, between AOAD and the Agricultural Research Centre, aims to develop interactive agricultural advisory systems, training materials, and promotional content. It supports Egypt’s rural and agricultural transformation strategy, focusing on rural development, entrepreneurship, and a knowledge repository for researchers, manufacturers, and policymakers. The agreement aligns with the Decent Life Initiative and aims to improve rural livelihoods.
Meanwhile, the second protocol, between AOAD and the Desert Research Centre, focuses on water harvesting projects in Saint Catherine, South Sinai. It includes documentation and training on non-traditional water sources, targeting university students and young graduates to raise awareness of water challenges and opportunities in arid regions.
