Egypt stocks end week in green notes

Egypt’s stock market posted gains worth 1.99 billion Egyptian pounds (US$247.7 million).

The market capitalisation has recorded 453.137 billion pounds during the closing session of Thursday.

Indices

Egypt’s benchmark index, EGX30 rose 0.38 percent to 7507.89 points.

The newly-launched EGX50 EWI index increased by 0.61 percent to 1277.94 points.

EGX20 went up 0.69 percent to 7320.96 points.

In addition, the mid- and small-cap index EGX70 boosted by 0.48 percent to 397.8 points. The price index, EGX100 hiked by 0.38 percent to 852.35 points.

Turnovers low

On Thursday, the bourse’s trading volume has hit 262.770 million securities, with turnovers closed at EGP 578.351 million, exchanged through 20,310 thousand transactions.

Also during the closing session, 172 listed securities have been traded in; 42 declined, 81 advanced; while 45 kept their previous levels.

Investors’ Activities

Local and Arab investors were net sellers on Thursday  seizing 72% and 7.7% respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 14.122 million and EGP 12.069 million, respectively, excluding the deals.

On the contrary, the foreign investors were net buyers getting 20.3% of the total market, with a net equity of EGP 26.191 million, excluding the deals.
