Egypt to hold international conference on development goals in May

Egypt is to hold an international conference in May for countries concerned with the implementation of development in which experiences and strategies for different development fields will be showcased, announced Minister of International Cooperation Sahar Nasr.

Nasr’s made this announcement as the United Nations celebrated the 50th year of the United Nations for Development Programme (UNDP).

The minister invited president of the Social and Economic Council (ECOSOC) His Excellency Oh Joon to attend the conference in Egypt, who welcomed the invitation.

The UNDP is considered a strategic partner for development in Egypt. In addition, Egypt has made significant progress in various fields during the past period, such as improving citizens’ standard of living, according to Nasr.

The agenda is to establish a clear plan for development in order to accomplish sustainable growth, said the minister.

The council president praised Egypt’s efforts so far to achieve economic development, adding that the country has the ability to overcome the challenges it faces.
