Egypt To Host General Arab Insurance Federation Conference In 2014

Egypt will host the General Arab Insurance Federation Conference in 2014 which is held every two years and is attended by representatives from Arab insurance and reinsurance companies and international reinsurance companies.

Egypt has won its bid to host the conference after competing with Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Jordon and Lebanon. Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Jordan ceded to Egypt.

Kuwait, Sudan, Mauritania, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Jordan and Palestine voted for Egypt, Morocco and Syria voted for Lebanon and Qatar was absent from vote, said  Alaa El-Zoheiry, managing director of Arab Misr Insurance Group (AMIG), member of board of directors of Insurance Federation of Egypt and Egypt’s representative in the Conference.

Insurance Federation of Egypt will coordinate with Egyptian Financial Supervisory Authority to prepare the arrangements for the conference to be held in 2014 in Sharm El-Sheikh.

Alaa El-Zoheiry thanked Abdel Raouf Kotb, Insurance Federation of Egypt, and all members of directors of the Federation for supporting and voting for Egypt to host this important conference.
