Egypt to partner with General Motors on vocational training

The Egyptian government is collaborating with General Motors Egypt to enhance vocational training programmes, Minister of Industry and Transport Kamel El-Wazir said while meeting with GM representatives on Tuesday.

The Ministry of Industry’s Productivity and Vocational Training Department (PVTD) will oversee this partnership.

A key component of the initiative includes establishing a vocational school within General Motors’ factory. The company will contribute to curriculum development and provide hands-on training. The goal is to elevate technical education and vocational training to international standards by employing modern teaching methodologies.

This is part of a broader strategy to strengthen the workforce, which Minister El-Wazir highlighted as a crucial element for achieving industrial progress. The partnership is expected to create a highly skilled talent pool for the factory while strengthening the overall workforce.
