Egypt is set to pay 3 billion Egyptian pounds next week to settle the remaining dues for cotton farmers who delivered their crops. This came during a Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly.
The Cabinet reviewed the status of payments owed to cotton farmers and confirmed that the Ministry of Finance would make the payment in the coming week.
The Cabinet also reaffirmed the state’s commitment to continuing its support for Egyptian farmers by providing more facilitations and incentives to help them fulfil their vital role and boost production of strategic crops.
