Egypt to reveal new export support programme by February end

Egypt’s ministry of industry is set to the details of the new export support programme and a new programme to pay off the arrears of export subsidies, Advisor to the Minister of Trade and Industry for Small and Medium Enterprises Hossam Farid.

He added that the government pays great attention to boost Egyptian exports, stressing the necessity of completing this programme within a month.

This came during the first meeting held to draft a new programme  to pay export subsidy arrears in order to stimulate the Egyptian exports abroad.

Each export council is currently preparing a working paper on the most important proposals to  draft a new programme that support the state’s plan in developing the export sector, being one of the most important foreign exchange resources.

The new programme will be designed to offer incentives rather than the current export programme. It will ensure attracting more investments for the purpose of exporting, increasing number of exporters, and increase the Egyptian share in world market.
