Egypt to stream Cleopatra documentary 10 May

Egypt will stream a new documentary on Greek Queen of Egypt, Cleopatra VII, on Wednesday the 10th of May. The new documentary features renowned archaeologist and Egyptologist Zahi Hawass, Kathleen Martinez, Curtis Ryan Woodside, and Sofia Aziz.

According to the movie’s trailer, the documentary will allow viewers to meet and discover the real Cleopatra.

“Everyone thinks they know her, everyone has a different opinion, but most of those are modern, based on films and misinformed play writes.” said the documentary’s trailer.

The new documentary is a response to Netflix’s Queen Cleopatra, which depicts false information by showing Cleopatra as black. The docu-series has been facing backlash by viewers all over the world, especially those in Egypt.
