Egypt to switch to daylight saving time from 24 April
Egypt will move its clocks forward by one hour from the last Friday of April each year under its daylight saving time system, according to a Cabinet statement on Wednesday.
The shift will remain in place until the end of the last Thursday of October, in line with Law No. 24 of 2023, which reintroduced daylight saving time as part of efforts to improve energy efficiency.
During this period, official time in Egypt will be set one hour ahead of standard time.
The measure is part of broader steps that aim to manage energy consumption, particularly during the summer months when demand typically rises.
