Egypt unveils plans to build new marble production city

Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on Wednesday has announced plans to build a new city for the production of marble in the Red Sea port of Ain Sokhna.

The new city will be with annual capacity of 30 million metres. It is part of the phosphatic and compound fertilizers complex, inaugurated earlier on Wednesday.

The complex is the largest industrial establishment for producing fertilizers in North Africa as it will annually process 500,000 tonnes of raw sulphur as well as two million tonnes of raw phosphate to produce fertilizers.
