Egyptian Exchange Gains EGP 1.3 Bln, EFG-Hermes Tops EGX’s Early Upwards

Whilst Wednesday’s early trading, the EGX posted gains of EGP 1.346 billion as the capital market has reached EGP 338.430 billion at 9:05 GMT (11:05 local time).

The main index, EGX30 climbed 0.73% to hit 4718.22 p. EGX20 jumped 1.07% to hit 5397.62 p.

Meanwhile, the mid- and small-cap index, the EGX70 edged up 0.33% to hit 410.92 p. Price index EGX100 went up 0.38% to reach 738.1 p.

Traded volume reached 7.395 million securities worth EGP 24.753 million, exchanged through 1.098 thousand transactions.

This was after trading in 62 listed securities; 9 declined and 47 advanced while 6 keeping their previous levels.

Egyptians and Arabs were net buyers seizing 62.23% and 11.78% respectively, of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 1.821 million and EGP 4.317 million, excluding the deals.

On the other hand, non-Arab Foreigners were net sellers seizing 25.99% of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 6.138 million excluding the deals.

EGX’s leading shares witnessed collective rise led by EFG-Hermes Holding (HRHO.CA) which jumped 2.26% reaching EGP 10.84. Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH) (ORTE.CA) climbed 1.60% hitting EGP 3.17. Orascom Telecom Media & Technology Holding (OTMT.CA) also edged higher 1.53% reaching EGP 1.33. Commercial International Bank- Egypt (COMI.CA) surged 1.28% hitting EGP 24.60. Orascom Construction Industries (OCIC.CA) went up 0.13% reaching EGP 265.00.
