Egyptian Exports to Kuwait Rose 3% to $173mn in H1

Egyptian exports to the Kuwaiti market rose by 3.4% during the first half of 2014 to reach $172.6 million against $166.8 million in the same period a year earlier, according to Youm7 gazette.

Ambassador Gamal Faisal, Head of Egyptian representative office in Kuwait said the volume of Egypt’s imports from Kuwait rose 10.7%, or $2.3 million to $23.8 million in H1 from $21.5 million a year earlier.

He indicated that, however, the trade balance is still in the favor of Egypt, as it rose by 2.4% or $3.5 million to $148.8 million in H1-14 from $145.3 million in H1-13.

Although the Kuwaiti market is relatively small, it ranks as the third largest Arab market for Egyptian exports after Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
