The Egyptian pound was little changed against the US dollar at the close of trading on Thursday, reflecting continued stability in the local foreign-exchange market amid steady hard-currency liquidity conditions.
The dollar traded at 51.93 pounds for buying and 52.03 pounds for selling at most major banks, according to data compiled from five leading lenders as of 16:24 local time (13:24 GMT).
| Bank | Buy (EGP/USD) | Sell (EGP/USD) |
| National Bank of Egypt (NBE) | 51.93 | 52.03 |
| Banque Misr | 51.93 | 52.03 |
| Commercial International Bank (CIB) | 51.93 | 52.03 |
| QNB Alahli | 51.9300 | 52.0300 |
| Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) | 52.1600 | 52.2600 |
The Egyptian currency has traded within a relatively narrow range against the dollar in recent weeks, supported by improved foreign-currency inflows and easing pressures in the domestic foreign-exchange market.
