Egyptian Presidential Elections Nomination begins

Egypt declared on Saturday nomination for upcoming presidential elections effective as of today, a step that came in enacting a new national constitution.
The supreme presidential election commission is receiving candidacy application papers for the top post, a head of the polls, due to elect the first president since eruption of the January 25 revolution that ousted the fprmer president, Hosni Mubarak.the polling will be held on May 23-24.

Candidates can be eligible with support of 30 members of the people’s and Shura assemblies or securing signatures of 30.000 ordinay citizens.  Moreover a political party that has one elected member in the legislative assembly is entitled is entitled the race.

Nominees are barred from receiving financial support from foreign states or authorities.
