Egyptian stock market rises 0.30% with humble gains

Egyptian stock market concluded higher on Tuesday with gains estimated at 332 million Egyptian pounds (US$ 42.4 million) on local and Arab buying appetite.

The market capitalisation recorded 390.937 billion pounds on the closing session on Tuesday.

Indices

Egypt’s benchmark index, EGX30 rose 0.30 percent to 6104.74 points.

The EGX50 EWI index went higher by 0.50 percent to 1132.09 points.

EGX20 increased by 0.22 percent to 6127.36 points.

In addition, the mid- and small-cap index EGX70 dropped by 0.54 percent to 352.01 points. The price index, EGX100 grow by 0.10 percent to 718.43 points.

Turnovers

On Tuesday, the bourse’s trading volume has hit 214.037 million securities, with turnovers closed at 649.217 million pounds, exchanged through 22,992 thousand transactions.

Also during the closing session, 167 listed securities have been traded in; 57 declined, 59 advanced; while 48 kept their previous levels.

Investors’ Activities

Local and Arab investors were net buyers on Tuesday seizing 80.09% and 4.6% respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of 23.387 million pounds and 13.893 million pounds, respectively, excluding the deals.

On the contrary, the foreign investors were net sellers getting 15.32% of the total market, with a net equity of 37.281 million pounds, excluding the deals.
