Egypt’s Auda, Arab Contractors Discuss Constructing 25 New Silos

Bassem Auda, Egyptian Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, has discussed with Eng. Osama Al-Husseini, the Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, the possibility of constructing 25 new silos within the coming period.

Auda revealed that as to 75 silos will be offered by the financial lease system within a week; mentioning that two silos would be opened in Desouk, Kafr Al Sheikh, at storage capacity of 60.000 tons per silo. During a meeting held yesterday, the minister pointed out to the necessity of Embaba silo, which has been inaugurated recently, as it store very large quantities that supplied by the farmers for the interest of the government.

 He added that the volume of the provision is targeted to reach 4.5 million tons of the domestic wheat this year, 22% increase than last year. The quantities of the wheat supplied this year exceeded 3 million tons, which is considered as a great accomplishment in the wheat file, said Auda.
