Egypt’s Beach Licensing committee approves new projects

The Supreme Committee for Beach Licensing, chaired by Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Hany Swailem, approved on Thursday two beach license requests and two national projects.

These include a request from the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) for the construction of the New Mansoura City project and the reinforcement and rehabilitation of the eastern and western seawalls at the Rosetta Branch of the Nile (Phase II).

Additionally, the committee approved 25 other investor requests, postponed 7 for further review, and rejected 4 due to non-compliance with requirements.

Minister Swailem emphasised the importance for investors to present proposed projects to the committee before starting any work to avoid negative impacts on coastal areas.
