Egypt’s BOT Deficit Amounted To EGP21.53 bln In November 2012

The balance of trade deficit during November 2012 went up to EGP 21.53 billion, in return for EGP 16.71 billion at the same time of 2011, rose by 28.8%; according to the data the foreign trade’s monthly summary in November 2012 that issues by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics  (CAPMAS).

The statement showed that the value of exports dived by 1.5% to reach EGP 14.87 billion in November 2012, in return for EGP 15.10 billion in November 2011. This decline is due to the decrease of some commodities’ value like petroleum products, raw petroleum, ready- made garments, carbon, candles, and metal materials.

The value of imports rose by 14.4% to reach EGP 36.40 billion, in return for EGP 31.81 billion at the same period in 2011, because of increasing the value of some commodities like petroleum products, raw petroleum, wheat, and plastics.
