Egypt’s Bourse ends week with $140mln-gains, Indices rebound

Egypt’s stock market posted gains worth 1.1 billion Egyptian pounds (US$140.4 million) at the closing session of Thursday.

The market capitalization has reached 474.007 billion pounds.

Indices

Egypt’s benchmark index, EGX30 rose by 0.88 percent to 7617.39 points.

EGX20 went up by 0.68 percent to 7717.77 points.

In addition, the mid- and small-cap index EGX70 boosted by 0.73 percent to 415.55 points. The price index, EGX100 increased by 0.08 percent to 874.3 points.

Turnovers low

On Thursday, the bourse’s trading volume has hit 123.903 million securities, with turnovers closed at EGP 472.042 million, exchanged through 15.736 thousand transactions.

Also during the closing session, 161 listed securities have been traded in; 41 declined, 79 advanced; while 39 kept their previous levels.

Investors’ Activities

Arab and Non-Arab investors were net buyers on Thursday getting 12.86% and 32.32% respectively of the total markets, with a net equity of EGP 18.322 million and EGP 106,985, respectively, excluding the deals.

On the contrary, Egyptian investors were net sellers seizing 54.82% of the total market, with a net equity of EGP 18.429 million, excluding the deals.
