Egyptian exports of chemical industries have recorded 18 billion Egyptian pounds (US$2.3 billion) in 2015, official reports and statistics showed.
Ahmed Kamal – executive director of The Environmental Compliance Office and Sustainable Development (ECOSD) at Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI)- made these remarks Monday during a conference held on safe and sustainable chemical industries.
The conference was held by ECOSD in cooperation with Egypt’s Chamber of Chemical Industries under the auspices of trade minister Tarek Qabil and Gamal Sorour, minister of manpower.
Kamal added that the conference will discuss the concept of sustainable chemistry or green chemistry that aims at reducing the production of hazardous materials. Additionally, the conference will talk over the emerging approaches in the field of green chemistry and how to merge that concept with the Egyptian industrial sector.
